The Canadian Law and Society Association (CLSA) supports the exchange of ideas and the promotion of critical socio-legal scholarship across Canada.

​Since the 1980's we have regularly held conferences,  awarded various prizes recognizing top socio-legal scholarship, and provided support to graduate students.

You can join CLSA as a member! Members can participate in annual and mid-winter meetings, have voting privileges at our AGM, get a subscription to the Canadian Journal of Law and Society, and receive our bi-annual Bulletins.

Call for papers/appel à communications: CLSA/ACDS Mid-year Meeting

Please find attached the call for papers and panels proposals--with correct submission email address—for Law & Society in an Age of Connection and Distraction hosted by the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities at Ontario Tech University, Oshawa, Ontario. The symposium will take place 21-22 February 2025 in conjunction with the annual mid-winter meeting of the Canadian Law & Society Association. Please note that the deadline for submissions to the 'Law & Society in an Age of Connection and Distraction' symposium has been extended until Friday, 25 October.

We are pleased to announce the 2024 CLSA/ACDS prize winners for law and society scholarship. (Please note the English Article Prize is coming soon!) ​

The 2024 Annual Meeting was held in person from June 14-17, 2024 at McGill University. Please stay tuned for 2025!
